Is it really Easter already!!!

I am sorry to stay away for so long, I don’t know about you but this whole “2013 the year of opportunities” is proving to be busier and crazier then ever….

I will try my hardest to speedily recap on the first few months of 2013 to bring you up to date…

January how much FUN were you!!  Maria and myself spent 2 weeks in the USA, while there was a spot of shopping at every opportunity possible the rest of our time was filled with HAIR HAIR HAIR (lucky we are obsessed)

Week 1/ Santa Monica… What an amazing week it was, we spent 5 full days being mentored and trained at the Vidal Sassoon Academy re-freshing our precision cutting skills by the elite trainers, all i can really say is LOVE.

Week2/ Las Vegas… What a whirl wind 0ver 8000 Hairdressers in one hotel at the well renowned Redken Symposium conference!! For those of you who have not been to Las Vegas GO this place is surreal you definitely know you are somewhere else, nothing is too much everything is taken to the extreme and beyond what you can imagine (not to mention the shopping…… AAAA MAZING )

Redken really know how to put on a show!! We had an opening gala, closing gala, a night at cirque du soleil, private party at the Bellagio over looking the water fountains and most of all everyday, all day, we were inspired and filled with knowledge by legends of our industry on personal and business development, creative cutting / colouring and styling! There really was so much going on, something for everyone.

Oh back track a little,  we did squeeze in a 2 day photo shoot for my latest collection 4 days before we flew out….  Because we can!! ( i will share with you more details and some pics in my next post) Yes massive week lets just say the 15 hour plane flight was a blessing!

So that was January, six days after landing i was off to Melbourne for 3 nights with my new Redken Family..

That’s right i was lucky enough to be named as a “new hire” in the Redken Australian Artistic Team!! EXCITED much… Yes, this for me is a dream come true i have always loved educating and sharing my passion with others and i have been knocking on this door for some time and now it has opened!!  I got to spend these 3 days with people who have been my hair heroes for years it was a quite surreal at first learning together and feeling like an equal, i cant wait to see what will come of this opportunity not just for myself but for the entire jarahs hair team!
That’s not all for February… Our lovely stylist, and manager of our Loxton Salon Nicole Tate, was awarded “Riverland and Mallee Apprentice of the year”  Nicole had some tough competition, also being named a finalist our own very talented Tiffany Decaux!! We were and are so so proud of our girls xxx

So this brings us to March, over whelmed a little about all we have absorbed over the past two months we decided to join the Australian Hairdressing Council, i want go in to too much detail but these guys rock!! They are all about supporting the industry on a national level dedicating its focus in the betterment of our industry!

After joining we were then honoured to be asked to join the Education and Training Committee of the Australian Hairdressing Council! We quickly said yes and Maria is on board attending phone conferences and proudly having a voice representing South Australia on a national level all the way from the Riverland!!

So thats us up to date… What is next you ask??

Mercedes Benz Australian Fashion Week ……….. We will keep you posted through out the week on our Facebook Page!

Much Love xx
